Rajgir: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch an extensive agitation in Bihar against rampant corruption and rising crime in the state, said senior AAP leader Ashutosh at a party workers’ meeting held at Rajgir in Nalanda district on Sunday.
He said, “There is no doubt about the honesty of CM Nitish Kumar but one can also not deny the fact that corruption is rampant in all government departments and there has been a tremendous rise in crime. AAP workers will not remain silent spectators. They will rise to the occasion and oppose it,” he added.
Blaming RJD chief Lalu Prasad for the deterioration in law and order in the state, Ashutosh said, “This is all because Nitish joined hands with Lalu who is now superimposing himself in administrative affairs.” He exhorted his party workers, who came from all the 38 parliamentary constituencies of the state, to be ready for 2020 state elections and asked them to form teams of booth-level workers well in advance.
He said AAP will also organise a rally in Patna in May this year and on January 17 next, a mega rally at Patna Gandhi Maidan will be organised in which 3 lakh party worker from across the state will participate.
On the choice between corruption and communalism, he said that both are very dangerous for the country and his party opposes both with similar might. “It is my party’s stand not to compromise on any of the two and that’s why we do not forge alliance with any party to keep our image clean,” he said.
On the question of his party’s participation in coming state assembly elections, he said the AAP will contest Punjab and it will win it but so far other state asseebly elections are concerned a decision will be taken only when they feel they were prepared for it. On talks wiith Pakistan in the present contest, he said PM Narendra Modi had miserabley failed in his foreign policies including that of Pakistan.
