Patna: The success of Super 30, an initiative of mathematician Anand Kumar under which poor students are coached free of cost to crack IIT-JEE, has now attracted a Japanese channel to make a documentary on the institute.
A team from Japan’s leading channel, Tokyo TV, has arrived in Patna to shoot the documentary which would focus on how students from underprivileged sections of the society aspire to be at India’s premier IITs and study hard under the guidance of Kumar for the purpose.
Last year, a team of senior officials from Tokyo University visited Super 30 and held discussions with Kumar for admission of some of the students to the university. Two Super 30 students are now pursuing higher education in Tokyo University on full scholarship.
